Dear friends:
I decided to try out Mandrake 7.0 last night. Took only an hour to
download the custom version by FTP.
No question about the sheer beauty of the new installation program. Will
see how it well it does.
Minor mouse problem: The mouse is recognized and works fine in XWindows
but is NOT recognized and does not work in the Console.
I am using a Microsoft serial compatible mouse and I have changed the
setting in my Bios on IRQ Interrupts no. 3,4,5,7, and 12 to Legacy ISA.
My mouse is connected to the first serial port, while my Robotics 56k
external modem is connected to the first serial port. I had no problem
with either in my last 6.1 installation last night.
So far, I have only encountered two problems, this one about the mouse
and some weird problem having to do with the Robotics which prevents it
from connecting or rather staying connected. Of that in my next message.
Would appreciate any lead on this subject. Is it possible that 7.0 has
dispensed with mouse action in the console, at least for serial mice?
Thank you
Benjamin
