Do you have a better GUI front-end for cdrecord? I swear I
read the docs on cdrecord, but I couldn't figure out the
command-line options....
BTW, the blanks I have are Imation 1x to 8x compatible 650
mb / 74 minute blanks. The data side is blue-green and the
back is silver with a black Imation logo and lines to write
on.
I have to say I used the CDR LinuxPPC disk, using a Smart &
Friendly CDR disk and it worked BEAUTIFULLY! I have used
that CDR disk to install LinuxPPC twice now.
Maybe I got burned on these blue-green Imation CDs.
However, the S&F CD appears (to my eyes) to be the same
color as the Imation disk.

The reports I'm getting (and what I've seen) are that the
systems trying to install freeze up after the initial setup
screen and don't work! One of the CD drives is a Goldstar
24x CD, so I DOUBT the CD drive is at fault in that case....

Well, I used NCFTP to transfer the images and then used the
MD5 checksum to double-check the images' integrity, so I'm
pretty certain that the ISO images are valid. I *DOUBT*
that the CDRW drive is bad, as it worked for creating a
LinuxPPC disk that DID install on the Mac here at work...

Are Verbatim and Imation basically the same thing these
days? Heck, these CDR disks I bought (again, Imation brand)
for $.69 each (or $69 for 100 on a spindle) aren't even
MADE by Imation. They're made by someone else and then
stamped with the Imation logo, etc.

Well, I don't think I"ll be ordering any CDR blanks from
Germany... :-) Thanks, though...
