I have been attempting to get a firewall setup using hackkernel-2.3.41-1mdk
and have not been able to figure out netfilter to setup my firewalling. Has
anyone setup firewalling with this kernel version ? I have read what
documentation I can find on netfilter and supposedly there is some sort of
backward compatability with ipchains, I would appreciate any direction or
advise that anyone could offer. I currently am running a ampernet/internet
gateway system an have a V90 56K ppp connection to my ISP I then use ipip
encapsulation to forward ax25 (Amateur Radio) packets through tunl0 device and
onto another Amateur Radio Gateway. I would much prefer to use ax25utils and
the linux kernel to do this rathere than my current configuration which
utilizes a NOS package to allow RF Port traffic from 3 serial ports to be
routed via a pseudo slip port, sl0, to my Linux box and then to the internet.
This is very confusing to explain. I found a script to convert ipfwadm2ipchains
when I went to the 2.2 series kernel and was hoping for something similar to go
from ipchains to netfilter. Once again all help.direction would be very much
appreciated.
