Ummm, save your data and install packages and Install 7.0, then reinstall your
software and data?  It seems that it would take less time than what you are
facing now--nickel and dime cleanups with no forseeable end.

I do congratulate Mandrake on making an upgrade that does and generally works. 
I did test the capability and found it far better than anything heretofore, but
still less than perfect.  Since I routinely fine-grain my partitions and save
my most recent install packages, it was no problem for me to Install instead of
upgrade which was MUCH faster, both on the Mandrake install and on the cleanup
afterward.
