Doesn't it work? You know, this is embarrassing. Since I *know* you can't bring up a network without ifconfig, I didn't try when I saw these errors. Now I tried. It works fine. It's know what you don't know, but what you know that's wrong, that'll get you. ;) (Should have realized that the ip's weren't entered yet so it didn't matter, but hindsight...)
