Dear friends:

OK, finally succeeded installing RealPlayer 7 rpm. And you can play
RealPlayer7 in Netscape. The application configuration is:

/usr/bin/X11/realplay %u

The entry for the "rpm" plugin extension is:

/usr/lib/netscape/plugins/rpnp.so

The plug-in won't be "enabled" in Netscape until you actually install
RealPlayer itself, that is, until the RealPlayer box comes up and you go
through the usual steps of configuring it in RealPlayer's box.

Then, when you open Netscape "About Plugins" you will find that the
"rpm" plugin is ENABLED.

Still, while I can play audio and video sites in Netscape (i.e. clicking
on the link launches RealPlayer7 and the audio or video plays fine), I
CANNOT play the plugin sites even though my plugin is enabled. I still
get the "Get your plugin for this site).

I did, however, delete several application entries in Edit, Preferences,
Navigator, Applications, those having to do with the "smil" extension
and several others. I did it in order to get rid of any reference to
RealPlayer so that I could install the rpm version of RealPlayer7. Well,
that succeeded, but I wonder if by deleting these other entries I also
disabled the actual playing of the plugin on those sites that demand it.

Thank you all so much.

Benjamin
