It is still the same star on the desktop, but you won't see it if you select
High or Paranoid security.
It goes by the program name MandrakeUpdate, complete with caps.
If you have selected one of those security levels, adding fonts or fixing a
broken fontserver can be very difficult. There is a nice thread about xfs on
Cooker today which among other things explains running XFree without xfs.
