If you can't find somewhere to download the "fixed" image from, here's a
step-by-step list of what I did to make a fixed boot disk. The following
assumes that you are logged on as root, with the original, "unfixed"
PCMCIA.IMG diskette mounted as /mnt/floppy:

1. cd /root
2. cp /mnt/floppy/pcmcia.rdz pcmcia.rdz
3. gunzip -S .rdz pcmcia.rdz
4. mount -t ext2 -oloop=/dev/loop0 pcmcia /tmp/a
5. mkdir -p /tmp/a/modules/net
6. cp -p /tmp/a/modules/modules.cgz modules.cgz
7. gunzip -S .cgz modules.cgz
8. cpio -ivdumB 8390.o < modules
9. cp -p 8390.o /tmp/a/modules/net/8390.o
10. umount /tmp/a
11. gzip -S .rdz -9 pcmcia
12. rm -f /mnt/floppy/pcmcia.rdz
13. cp pcmcia.rdz /mnt/floppy/pcmcia.rdz
14. sync; sync; sync
15. umount /mnt/floppy

You can now boot from the "bootnet.img" floppy, insert the "pcmcia.img"
when asked. I have successfully installed LM 7.02 on my Tulip laptop
using the modified boot disk produced by this procedure. Now, if only I
could get the text mode install to work properly, I'd be happy....!
