SNIP!
I've also had a heck of a time upgrading from 6.1 to 7.0, I had everything
running pretty good in 6.1!! I'm back to windoze right now, If I ever get
7.0
functional I'm not going to Mandrake 8.0 or whatever that's for sure!! I
think
they engineered MDk 7.0 for a clean install, no upgrades. Kind of a pain
starting from scratch every time. What was the major difference between
7.0 and 7.0-2, I might get a CD from cheapbytes and give that a whirl if
there
is any real difference.
Good Luck with the sound, I've got an oddball i810 video thingy I'm fighting
for the right to run X!! :-)

PS
I may try an elcheapo Tiwan knockoff of a soundblaster audio card when
I get tired of messing with my Rockwell riptide card.
