Vince, I have a Pioneer DVD and it hasn't caused any problems. For all intents and purposes Linux will see it as a CDROM drive. Livid is about the only DVD software available at the mo, mainly because of a court battle or some such nonsense. SOmeone doesn't think DVD software should be free... As for using Livid, I am not yet comfortable patching my kernel to use it, so someone else had better answer this...
