Well, I tracked it down to a company called Vividata, and although it sounds
OK, $300 for a program that outputs only ASCII is way too much. The whole Corel
WordPerfect Office is only costing me $100, and I never paid anything like $300
for Windows OCR programs that preserve formatting and save in a long list of
different formats.
But thank you, anyway, for telling me what was available. I guess this
situation reflects the fact that Linux is just beginning to invade the office
desktop.
