Thanks for making me take a look. I found the following in cron.daily, which
seems to control the process. I was glad to pull it up, because I had been
meaning to add /mnt to the list to be excluded:
/usr/bin/slocate -u -f "nfs,smbfs,ncpfs,proc,devpts" -e
"/tmp,/var/tmp,/usr/tmp,/afs,/net,/mnt"
