Thank you.  Now I don't have to buy a graphics blaster to discover a Cirrus
Logic Chipset.  I have had more trouble with that brand than any other,
INCLUDING SiS and PCChips.

Try the following things in the "devices" section of your XFree86 configuration
file

/etc/XF86Config

option "noaccel"


This will decrease performance when sending the screen to another computer over
a network significantly but is rarely noticable for local use even though the
performance is decreased according to benchmark tests.

P. S.  If you see muddy characters on the screen or muddy lines in a word
processor or an occasional row of multicolored dots on an otherwise blank area
of a screen, trash the card and get another, otherwise the unthinkable linux
system crash is what comes NEXT.
