Thank you! RTFM! According to the kpackage manual,
2.2 Requirements
For installing kpackage you need:
Qt 1.4 and KDE 1.1 libs
or
Qt2.0 and KDE 2 CVS
For listing Debian packages no other software is needed but to install and unistall
the packages you need:
the DPKG package manager installed
Getting a prompt indicating that kpackage can't find a program in which I
have no interest makes kpackage less usefu to me. I don't see any way to
turn off the requirement.
