I have noticed the same problem but haven't written a script to implement
it. From my notes:
To run Netscape remotely:
Netscape is running:
netscape -remote 'openURL(http://charlesc.localdomain/~ccurley)' &
To launch Netscape (don't do it if netscape is already running):
netscape http://charlesc.localdomain/~ccurley
Clearly you need to see if netscape is running. I believe that checking
the output of ps for 1) netscape running, and 2) the current user running
it should tell you which of the two lines above to run.
I'll be interested to see what you produce.
