Get a second ethernet card for A. B will be insecure as long as it is on
the same subnet as the cable modem. You should go as follows:

                              /----- Computer
                              |
                              |
cable modem --- MASQ box --- hub --- Computer
                              |
                              |
                              \----- Computer
