I remember a posting here some weeks ago about system files in the /tmp directory. It sounded absurd but I think the point was being made about essential system files being placed in the "/tmp" directory by LinuxMandrake. Coming, as I do, from a Solaris background, I dismissed this as possibly being a fluke on some individual box. My question is simple: does anyone know what the ".X11-unix" and ".font-unix" folders are about in "/tmp"? They each contain one file, "X0=" and "fs-1=" respectively. Are these actually system files that must stay or is it safe to delete them? I thank you for any assistance you can render in this matter. I can not locate any documentation in this issue. Craig
