A while ago I managed to find a thread on one of the Mandrake mailing lists
between a user and a Mandrake developer detailing the steps needed to get a
radio card working with Mandrake Linux. After following those steps my radio
card worked just fine for months.

This past weekend I decided to upgrade to Mandrake 7.0. Just about everything
went fine except my radio card is no longer working. Both the videodev and the
radio-cadet kernel modules are loaded (though radio-cadet is listed as unused).
I searched through both the newbie and expert mailing list archives but could
not find the thread that had the details on how to get the card working. It
seems the archives might have been trimmed for some reason.

I guess the most disappointing thing about it all was at the end of the thread
the Mandrake developer said he'd make sure that the necessary steps to get a
card working would be added to the next release. I guess that didn't happen.

As I said, I've got the modules loaded just fine. I think what I'm missing is
setting up a link from some device to /dev/radio? There may have been some
other things to set up as well. If anybody knows how to get a radio card
working I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thank you.
