eth0 isn't a device, it's a network connection.

I'm afraid I can't tell you how most people manage those; I suspect that
there's something under DrakConf.

Personally, I have PCMCIA and I do it with scripts I've written by hand
usng the PCMCIA and networking HOWTOs, but I suspect that there are
easier ways.  I had some particularly quirky requirements for my
situation that didn't "fit" into the GUI model (at least on Red Hat, and
once I wrote the scripts it was easier to just keep propogating 'em as I
upgraded).
