Okay, I'm looking for a way to have a fully/mostly graphical boot on my
linux machine.
I'm assuming this is done by using the Framebuffer techniques (Same ones
used to show the Tux in the upper corner during boot), but I have two
questions.
1: Is this really what I need? How did Corel do it in their distro? That
looks sort of like what I need to get started.

2: Where can I find good solid documentation on how to use the framebuffer
stuff Just for boot?
