Yes, I downloaded the latest KDE2 stuff from Mandrake-devel contribs and the qt-2.1.0 library stuff from cooker and then the openssl files from Mandrake-crypto, all on ftp://ftp.linux.tucows.com/pub/distributions/Mandrake. Your favorite mirror may give you better performance. I did want to see what KOffice was doing--the individual apps seem strong, but the shell is still easy to segfault. Konqueror I tried out on some classic Netscape-killer sites. It segfaulted again and again. Then I activated JAVA/JAVASCRIPT That's all it took... I sent a credit card order to one site that I have always had to call before. This is a great browser! It seems light and fast, scales pages well and picks up unual situations like mpegs and tries to do something useful. on FTP it seems to have some difficulty with firewalls right now--won't connect recursively as when you drag the Mandrake directory onto your desktop--it gets the top layer than says "can't connect" And I could not download by dragging a file from the kde apps site to my desktop, using Konqueror. Finisn the beta and you'll color me converted. Great job KDE team, and great job for helping to support them, Mandrakesoft. Civileme ..
