It is a part of Mess-DOS circa 3.3 to 4.x or so. It is M$'s work-around
for some incredily stupid design decisions that went into early AT class
computers. It is ancient stuff.

The fact that someone's mail reader is arbitrarily picking up and shipping
bits and pieces of his OS is frightening. Yet another reason to run
Linux. Assuming he didn't deliberately send it, another scary possibility.

I've already sent the culprit a polite private note about it, so we will
see what happens.
