I'm trying to create an auto-install floppy for my Linux-Mandrake distro (7.02a). I started with the CDROM.image to create the boot floppy (my system doesn't boot from CD) then I did a real install of Linux with all the features and stuff I wanted. The installation created a file called "auto_inst.cfg.pl" in my /root directory. I copied that file to the previously-made install floppy, edited the syslinux.cfg file as directed by the manual at http://www.mandrake.com/userguide/en/reference/018.html It didn't work... Booting that floppy still took me into the graphical configuration program... I see on the Mandrake website the following text in this link: http://www.linux-mandrake.com/drakx/README "- /mnt/root/auto_inst.cfg.pl: a kickstart file generated at the end of each step. Can be used in 2 ways: kickstart install or ``defcfg'' install. Hopefully you know about kickstart. ``defcfg'' is a way to customize the default values in install. For example, French can be the default language with a qwerty keyboard, the auto-partitionning partitions can be changed, the default user class can be set to developer (!)..." Do you know anything about a 'defcfg' install? How do I do that? Can anyone help me getting my auto-install floppy to work?
