Dear friends:

Thanks to the wonderful help of Darren Nickerson of Hylafax, I am now
ready to learn how to use Hylafax. Unfortunately, my USRobotics 56k ext
can only be used as a Class 1 faxmodem (even though it is officially a
2.0 faxmodem). I am looking forward to the results.

I am wondering if any of you have used Mgetty+sendfax. Does it have a
similar limitation on USRobotics 56k faxmodem. That is, can mgetty +
sendfax use it as a Class 2 modem, and does it really matter?

Finally, is there a front-end for mgetty? Or Hylafax?

Since mgetty-sendfax conflicts with Hylafax, I'll he to decide on one or
the other.

Any suggestions.

I am a single user of a single Linux machine, and my need for sending
and receiving faxes is quite limited. So, quality is everything. Is
there anything that I could with mgetty+sendfax on Class 2 that I could
not do with Hylafax on Class 1 that would tilt the balance in favor of
one or the other fax-data application?

Using AMD K6-2 400, 128 megs of RAM on Linux-Mandrake 7.0.

Thank you so very much.

Benjamin
