Try www.kvirc.org Their latest staticly linked binaries (about
3 M download) run just fine on 6.1, 7.0, and 7.1 The screen is
white and the colors are user-settable without a lot of hassle.
The most recent version of Xchat has been segfaulting on me on
7.1b3, but ran acceptably before that. Xchat I didn't find to my
preference because the screen "ugliness" (in this beholder's eye)
was not easy to change.
