Hmmm, I run a 2940AU with two Seagate drives, but not LVD, whatever that
is. Just for the halibut, try moving the thing to a higher SCSI ID number
& see what happens. It's an old trick for marginal SCSI interface
chips. In this case, your hardware proably isn't marginal, but the 2940
driver is setting its timeout too short.
