It's a 5610. Its been completely trouble free up til
now...

Given that it's effectively a PCI device, it is quite likely that the reason
you are having problems is more akin to 7.1 dealing with PNP/PCI a little
differently.

Have you tried moving it into another slot, so that Mandrake can
re-autodetect it?
