[expert] Install of 7.1 fails - "unable to read header"

I am installing 7.1 on my backup system: Cyrix PR-166, 32MB ram 850 MD
Conner drive (there is a 1.2GB drive with FreeBSD on it also).

During package install, it barfs with the following errors:

unable to read header
setup
filesystem
ldconfig
glibc
bdflush
cracklib
e2fsprogs
glib


missing header at /usr/bin/perl-install/pkgs.pm line 145


bzip2 compressed file ends unexpectedly


I am trying for a minimal install, so I set the slider to 16% - 162MB,
changed it to 25% - 240 MB, but no difference.
