Right. I don't know if it's a question of bubbles here, but the Mandrake
team took the right decision about the menus: the hierarchy is no longer
based on which desktop environment runs. You don't have to go at (if you
are in KDE) Gnome- Applications -File Tools to find gmc, just
Applications-File Tools and you cand choose between gmc and the kde
file manager. This not only raises the barriers between the two desktop
environments, but gives you the freedom to use the strongest apps each
DE has. It's very convenient to have the menu Networking, and from there
to use (Remote acces menu) kppp to connect, (Mail menu) kmail for mail
and xchat for IRQ (the menu with the same name).
GNOME is obviously improved, but I can't still fully use it, since it freezed
three times last evening. Even ALT+CTRL+Backspace didn't help.
Many distros just throw in what's new, in Mandrake you have the feeling
that everything is organically connected in a subtle way.
