Firstly, make sure you have the nfs, portmap, and all the rpc daemons
running.  The Mandrake installer often forgets to set these up.

Secondly, if you perform an NFS mount that would involve traversing
another mount point, nothing will be visible beyond this second mount
point.

This restriction is easily circumvented by exporting mount points
where this fs transition is already performed before the exported
mount point is reached.  Then only mount directory structures to this
mount point that do not contain any further mount points.
