Weird... I just upgraded my kernel from the stock 2.2.15 that comes with Mandrake 7.1 to 2.2.16-4mdk on Cooker. Since the upgrade, Gnome has slowed down dramatically. For instance, it takes 11 seconds to open Gnome Terminal. It took 35 seconds to get to my Gnome desktop when logging in. Anyone know what might be causing this? Should I download the SRPMS for Gnome and compile them myself to reflect the changes in the new kernel? -Chris
