Thanks Daniel...it's there and looks OK (and to tell you the truth I didn't
even notice it last time I looked through the .gnome directory (.doh)
with that as a starting point I'll look at how it acts at Login and post-boot
to see if its getting rewritten. if so, then some backtracking or a simple
startup script to replace the file sounds like the way to go
