EXACTLY!!! Don't know what's up with the CDROM thing, but it definitely affects some
computers, and not others. And it does not seem to be CDROM related - it works fine
with the same cdrom with another motherboard.
I did manage to get PICO and Apache installed. But there is surely some weirdness in
Mandrake!
I did a "custom" install, and selected SERVER. It installed Apache, but not PICO.
More importantly, it did NOT install RPMDRAKE or KINSTALL! Took me a little bit to
find this. After I got these buggers installed (of which RPMdrake had dependencies on
other modules needing to be installed first), I did a search for PINE - nothing.
Tried the search several ways, still nothing. I did a sort alphabetical, and found
it! Very strange.
I have my system sort of functioning at the moment, but this distribution has a little
more work before it is newbie-friendly.
