Using 7.1, I downloaded the new 2.4.0-test2 kernel and it compiled it with the
default 2.2.16 .config file from the 7.1 distribution. When I try to boot it,
I get the following error:
>request_module[block-major-3]: Root fs not mounted
>VFS: Cannot open root device "301" or 03:01
>Please append a correct "root=" boot option
>Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 03:01
My lilo.conf contains:
image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.4.0-test2
label=linux2
root=/dev/hda1
read-only
Anyone have a solution?
