I'm not sure if this is a problem of the SCSI card
(Tekram 390F with
newest bios, 3.21), my hard drive, or Mandrake. I own two IBM Ultrastar 2XP SCSI drives. I've asked Tekram
and IBM, so I
figure I may as well ask the Mandrake experts
too... :)
This is my new problem:
When I go to install Linux Mandrake 6.1 or 7.0, the installer freezes when it goes to install the SCSI card driver (ncr53c875 PCI). This is the message that is seen: <6> ncr53c875E-0-<3,0>: Phase change
6-7 8@0bx7ccc8 resid=5
<6> ncr53c875E-0-<3,*>: asynchronous <6> ncr53c875E-0-<3,0>: M_REJECT Received (80:8) <4> ncr53c875E-0: SCSI Phase Error fixup: CCB already dequeued (0xcb87c820) <6> ncr53c875E-0: restart (SCSI restart) <4> ncr53c875E-0: Downloading SCSI SCRIPTS This message repeats until I reboot the machine or
turn it off. I can install
FreeBSD 3.4 on the drives, but I would
prefer to use Mandrake.
Any ideas? Thanks!
