My cable modem works with no problems. I find that DHCP does not work well.
I use a manual configuration. You should use Drak Conf from root and enter
the IP address at the host setup. You also need the correct net mask. Mine
is 255.255.254.0 but yours may be different.
You also must set up the gateway ip and the DNS ip addresses. After you have
done all of this and make it current it should work. It does for me.

If you do not know these addresses because you are using DHCP in windows you
can get them all with winipcfg from Star Run.

This should work easily and well.

BE SURE top do it from log on as root or it will not stick.
I mean log on as root not the su that happens if you are not.
