[I posted this last night and never saw it on the mailing list. Think I
had my smtp settings misconfigured. Sorry if it ends up showing twice.]

All apologies in advance if this is more a general Linux than
Linux-Mandrake question. . .

What is the best way to modify /etc/skel?

I tried the ``brute force'' route: configuing one user, copying all
config files to /etc/skel, and `chown -R root.root /etc/skel'. However,
doing an `rgrep -r <username> /etc/skel' revealed many references to the
original user's name, which would then cause problems when a new user is
created and the skel files are copied to the new home directory.

Any suggestions for a simpler/more elegant solution? Thanks much.
