Sorry, Jerry, I cannot tell you how to fix what you have done, but I did
notice that there are improved (although not complete) instructions on the
Updates page <http://www.linux-mandrake.com/en/fupdates.php3#7.1> under the
title "June, 24 2000 SECURITY UPDATE: kernel" at Mandrake's site.
I was in the same situation. I am going to try the newer instructions
tonight, although I installed Grub rather than LILO.
I, too, have thought about recompiling the kernel, but that darn
UpgradeMandrake function should work.
