I posted a short script that checked every 5 minutes for usage of ld-linux.so
above 98% CPU time and killed (-9) every occurrence found. I think there are
copies on both newbie and expert lists. It keeps the netscape from taking over
your machine(s) but does not solve the problem.

Netscape 4.73 available on the mandrake mirror sites also seems to avoid the
situation

A site which will cause this crash reliably every few minutes, and thus a good
test bed, is www.wolfhome.com In fact it often kills the children and leaves
just the library process running (and you can even restart netscape with the
old library process chewing up resources). It has NEVER happened on 4.73 when
I was testing at that site. A second site which does a hefty number on
netscape is www.computergate.com. Trying an order with their electronic
shopping is a spiritual experience.
