Slightly different situation, same symptom -
I tried your script and it didn't work for me for either 4.72 or 4.73.

First - all java is disabled on my machine.
Second - it happens at random.
Third - it doesn't matter what page I'm on.

Normally, I keep Netscape open to
us.f2.mail.yahoo.com/ym/<a_bunch_of_stuff_relating_to_my_yahoo_mail>
and it works fine for hours. Suddenly my disk drive goes insane and top shows
netscape at 99% (if I already have it running). Mouse cursor takes minutes to
respond to mouse movement. Trying to launch anything to see what is happening
is virtually impossible. Note: the page does NOT autoupdate, I have to click
"check mail" to see new messages.

Sometimes I will leave Netscape pointing at UnitedMedia.com if I was reading
comics when something interesting happens on a MUD I'm playing. If it goes on
for hours, the same result as the previous scenario.

The only way I have found to prevent it is to kill Netscape if I'm not going
to be changing pages, but that screws up my web-based email logins (I have
several, and re-entering all the passwords is a pain).

Ctl-Alt-BS only works sometimes, usually it doesn't.

every day.>
