In looking over my email from this list over the past
couple weeks it seems that much is happening in Mandrake
Linux.
While we are overwelmed by crys of "bugs" and "problems"
when using windows hardware, trying to ask Mandrakesoft to
assit with problems from users running RH or other dists,
or even messages that might better have been sent to the
newbie list, one thing has stood out in my opinion.
The Mandrakesoft team and the guru's on this list have done
an exceptionally good job of responding and helping even
those that just didn't want help.
This support from these people is what makes Mandrake my
distribution of choice.
I admire not only your knowledge, but also your patience.
<BTW> I installed 7.1 on 5 different machines during a
mini installfest, last week, and had no problems with any
of them. These were everything from very old computers to
the newest.
Of the other installers, combined they only had three
problems, one dealing with a win modem, and two with
unsupported video cards, one of which we did get working,
well of a sort, <grin> with a bit of work.
