To my knowledge, AOL hasn't ported their AIM software to Linux yet.  There
are about two dozen IM-clone programs, but the one that most closely
resembles AIM is called GAIM.  Another option is Everybuddy, which supports
AIM, ICQ, and Yahoo Pager, all in one clever AIM-like interface.  I use the
latter when I'm on a machine where my NIC works under Linux. :) You can
download either from www.freshmeat.net.
