Hi Don,
On Monday, July 31, 2000, 9:09:16 PM, you hammered out in part about
"[expert] XawTV is working.":
D> Thanks again for all of your help, I now have a handle on getting
D> this video capture card to work. Now I just have to clean up the
D> errors and I think it will all be good. Did you get these errors
D> when you first started? I am not sure what is causing them, but I
D> plan on sending this to the XawTV creator tomorrow. Unless
D> someone has an idea of what it is telling me.
Glad I could be of help. I knew we would get it eventually. Pretty
neat isn't it? I love it when a plan comes together.
Yes, I don't see the errors now, as I use the command line Alt F2 to
fire it up instead of a terminal. <g>
I have a NVidia TNT2 card that is not recognized by 7.1, just generic.
I think this is where the frame buffer disagreement comes in to play.
I just went into .Xconfig and raised my buffers to the 32 megs that I
have instead of the generic 4096. It will still work well either way.
Those warnings have no effect on the program's operation at all. In
fact, your errors are the same as mine.
If you ever have trouble changing channels, just run modprobe
tuner=(your number), and it will be fine again. Sometimes, when I
reboot, it does this, as I have not placed this probe in the
/etc/conf.modules to run automatically.
