Not unless it takes special drivers to run it under any other operating
system.  Do they say you're _rquired_ to install their software, or do
they just order you to install it, no questions asked, for "special
features" that it includes?

My short answer is: if it plugs into the PS/2 port, then no, it probably
doesn't require anything extra.
