This is a hoax and has been going around the internet for some time now. I
think I first heard about it like 18 months ago. The site:
http://ciac.llnl.gov/ciac/CIACHoaxes.html
lists it under "E-Mail Tax". A good way to determine if any email you
receive is a hoax or not is to go to the above site or one of the many that
are out there that keep up with this type of thing.
Yahoo has a whole directory which lists sites that track these things and is a
pretty fair place to start when you want to check up on something or to get a
bit more information about hoaxes like this in general. You can find it at:

Also, this was sent both to you and to the list since none of the emails I
have been sending recently are showing up either on the list or in the lists
archives.
