You have dosemu (which is in the Mandrake distribution)
It's designed to run under linux, so as long as the files
are accessible to it via a filesystem supported by your
linux, there is no problem. You can have your files on
an ext2 filesystem, and the dos program will not even
be aware of it. (you could as well have them on more
"exotic" file systems like OS/2 HPFS, or Mac HFS, etc...
as long as linux knows how to access them (which it does).
This is for DOS programs, though, __NOT__ Windows programs.
For this you have Wine (also in the Mandrake distribution)
but this is experimental at best, so your mileage may vary,
depending on complexity and behaviour of the Windows program.
For DOS program though, there is usually no difficulty at all
(apart from initial dosemu configuration).
