I gather imwheel is a daemon of some sort; those are the kind of apps that
use pid files. If so, A graceful daemon should remove its pid file when it
is done. So the thing to do is make sure imwheel shuts down before the
/tmp directory is removed.

If, on the other tentacle, imwheel is not removing its pid file when it
shuts down, you might check with the vendor to see if this a bug.
