Hey, the idea with BIOS settings was right!
But in my case the BIOS setting was 'DMA Access: Auto' and after
I switched to 'Disabled' I could set the option with hdparm.

So, if I want to do things with hdparm I have to disable the
relevant option in BIOS first.
Thanks for the right idea!

Now the bench reads:
Timing buffered disk reads: 64 MB in 7.17 seconds = 8.93 MB/sec

Still not enough but faster than 6.xx!
