On the Mandrake Website, under Updates > 7.1, I see there is a mention
of a problem with printtool, and an admonition to upgrade. None of the
mirrored sites (including the primary mirror) are carying this update,
that I can find.

Unhappily, some users may experience some
problems with printtol (missing printers). Please
upgrade to: printtool-3.40-6mdk.noarch.rpm
My problem, by the way, is that, for the new Printer Type "Direct", the
configuration created by printtool does not print anything. I can netcat
a file to the print server (a D-Link 3-port server) just fine. I think I
see where the config goes bad, but I'm hoping the revision solves the
problem.
Does anyone know where/when we will see the update? (or does anyone have
any interim suggestions?)
