i have enquired on the newbie list about this but i thought i'd try here as well. i have tried to run the prog: /Mandrake/mdkinst/usr/bin/perl-install/g_auto_install off my mandrake 7 i486 cd which only came with a text install option, but when i run this prog from a terminal on my mandrake 70-2 i586 box i get what looks like the graphical install routine for my i586 installation which of course asks questions that the text install for the 486 version doesn't, it also produces error messages in the 'simulated' install routine at the 'setup filesystem' point, is someone here familiar with this and able to help me? bascule
